Everybody needs it, so here it is. The legal department. These are our binding agreements for services, domain registrations, etc. Hopefully you'll find what you need here.

Terms of Service

This document contains information on the services that Flatline Systems ("we") will provide to clients ("you"). Upon signup you agree to abide by these terms. If you do not agree then your account shall be terminated.

This document may be updated at anytime to reflect changes within our operating procedures.

Disk Quota- The disk quota is the amount of storage you are permitted on our servers. Should you exceed this limitation an email notice will be sent to you with a warning. After this warning you will not be permitted to add new items to your web space. At which point you can add more space to your account, upgrade to the next package or remove old items from your web space to allow room for the new ones. Should you not remove items in a given time, action will be taken to free up space on your account by the administration. Storage is allotted to you for use of web site only. Any storage of non-website related items (Applications, "warez", and non related media) is forbidden.

Shell Access- Shell access is granted upon request to those who have it included in their package have it added on. The shell is only accessible via the SSH (Secure Shell) protocol. Use of the shell for illegal or other uses that impede the servers performance will result in termination without notice and possible civil charges. We will provide support for commonly used SSH clients such as SecureCRT, PuTTY and OpenSSH.

CGI/PHP/ASP- We will provide upon request any necessary libraries or resources required for you to run CGI, PHP or ASP programs on your website. We will audit security on any packages that are requested to be installed. We reserve the right to block or terminate any rogue scripts. Any CGI, PHP or ASP program that has programming errors that cause high utilization of the server will be terminated with email notice to your primary account. Repetitive violations caused by banned or incompatible programs may result in your account being locked. We will provide minimal support only on third party CGI, PHP and ASP programs.

Private FTP Access- Your login to your account is yours only. We are not a remote backup provider. Using your space as such, or providing others with a means of downloading non website related files is prohibited. If you are found to be using your FTP login for usage other than shell or website related usage your account will be suspended with notice. We will provide FTP support for commonly used clients such as FlashFXP, LeapFTP, CuteFTP, WS_FTP.

Anonymous FTP- Anonymous FTP will be granted upon request to those whose accounts permit it. With anonymous FTP users may FTP to your domain and access files that you manage in your public directory. Excessive use of the FTP is counted against your monthly transfer rate.

SQL Database- We provide users upon request with their choice of either a mySQL or PostgreSQL database. Database sizes are not included in your regular disk quota; however a 50MB quota will be applied to any databases. Should you exceed this limit you will be notified and further actions to control this limit will follow. We will provide support for your databases on a server level only. If you are experiencing troubles with a third party application we are unable to support for these applications.

Secure Server (SSL)- Secure server is provided to all users via their domain when their account permits it, however a secure certificate is required. For current pricing on secure certificates please email info@flatlinesystems.net.

Monthly Transfer Limit - The data transferred from your website will be monitored. Should you exceed this limit an email warning will be issued with further actions pending. You will be given the option to suspend your website until the beginning of the following month or pay a fee, as listed, for excessive usage.

Email Accounts and Mailing Lists - You will be responsible for maintaining your own virtual email auto responders, mailing lists, forwarders and POP accounts via the web interface provided. Your limitations will be set according to your account specifics. Should you need more, a message sent to us with your new requirements will be processed accordingly. Each email account has a 50MB quota. Once you exceed this emails to your account will be returned to sender. SPAM: We do not condone the use of our systems to facilitate the transfer of SPAM (bulk unsolicited email) Any users caught using our systems for such an act will have their account terminated without notice. SPAM Protection: We will provide SPAM protection to any email account. Spam protection is enabled by default on all accounts. Please view our FAQ for further details regarding SPAM and the protection from virus emails.

Email Usage- We are not responsible for bounced emails due to over-quota or forwarding mis-configuration. You are responsible to maintaining the configuration on your home or office computer as well as regularly retrieving mail from your inbox. We reserve the right at anytime to lock out, or purge mail from accounts that are unmaintained for an extended period of time. We will provide support for common email clients such as Outlook, Outlook Express, Mozilla and Thunderbird.
